Leadership and evolution with the US Private Placement market

Over the past 5 years, BNP Paribas’s US Private Placement team has focused on the strategic expansion of its business, reflected in the ascent to the top of the cross-border league tables.

As markets for private capital continue to grow, so does the team’s increasingly prominent role across the global private placement markets. With offices across US, Europe, Asia and other regions, BNP Paribas successfully leverages a breadth and depth of local market expertise that allows the team to provide holistic advice and strategy on global private placement execution. In a testament to the strength and reach of our global private placement capabilities and investor relationships across regions, BNP Paribas also garnered the Euro Private Placement Agent of the Year accolade by GlobalCapital.

We are absolutely delighted to be awarded GlobalCapital’s US Private Placement Agent of the Year—a tremendous achievement for our team reflecting the market’s recognition of our leading position with this product. 2024 was a standout year for our franchise and this continued our strong year-on-year growth trajectory. We are equally delighted to see our client, Messer, awarded USPP Deal of the Year, and we would like to thank our clients for their ongoing trust and support.

US Private Placement Deal of the Year win

BNP Paribas’ German client Messer, the world’s leading privately owned specialist for industrial, medical and specialty gases, issued a landmark USD1.1 billion of Senior Notes in the US Private Placement market which GlobalCapital awarded US Private Placement Deal of the Year.

As a result of strong investor demand and the long-term orientation of investor relationships, the issuance was several times oversubscribed. BNP Paribas acted as Joint Lead Placement Agent.

Brown notes, “it is an immense honor for us to be acknowledged for our dedication to clients who trust us to deliver best-in-class execution and ideas. Thanks to everyone who contributed to this success, we aim to continue moving the US Private Placement market forward with access to new forms of capital raising for our clients and investors.”
