A dependable partner to SSA and Financial Institutions during the Covid-19 response.

Demand from SSA issuers significantly increased in 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic, particularly in EUR markets. As a leading European bank, BNP Paribas was well placed to support its SSA clients. Through deep market knowledge, BNP Paribas has played a pivotal role in supporting countries’ and governments’ responses to the crisis. As a result, BNP Paribas was awarded Most Impressive SSA House in Euros.

BNP Paribas also won Most Impressive FIG House in Euros for its contribution in the Financial Institutions space throughout the pandemic. Financing the real economy has been critical during these times of stress and BNP Paribas has played a prominent role in supporting its Financial Institutions clients over the last 18 months.

Making strides in Emerging Markets

In 2020, there was record primary supply for Central and Eastern Europe Middle East and Africa (CEEMEA) Euro bonds and BNP Paribas was active on a significant amount of deals for its clients.

Due to the bank’s strategic approach, BNP Paribas CEEMEA Debt Capital Markets (DCM) team was able to support clients on multiple deals with a high number of repeat mandates. As a result, BNP Paribas was awarded Most Impressive Bank for CEE Bonds and Most Impressive Investment Bank for CEEMEA Green/SRI Capital Markets.
